Plant HR Manager: Near Dayton, Ohio

Fortune 500 company seeking a top Plant HR manager to join their flagship operations located in Ohio.

The HR Manager originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes Committed exceptional people. HR Manager leads efforts to engage the workforce with emphasis in Safety (WISE), quality, and continuous improvement.

The HR Manager coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff; reports to the Sr. Plant Director and serves on the site management team; and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.

Requirements:
4 year related degree, prefer a masters degree
10-12 years as in HR within a Progressive Consumer Products Mfg company
3-5 years as a Plant HR Mgr (at least 250 people)
Union experience
Highly polished, progressive, and promotable
Continuous Improvement knowledge
Highly dynamic, results focused, proactive leader
Excellent leadership, communication, development and training skills
Job stability (no more than 3 jobs in 10 years)


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures and union agreements. Knowledge of the principles and practices human resources management and supervision in a union environment. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally. Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements, knowledge of immigration laws and processes a plus.

Extensive knowledge of information technology, including hardware and software applications, used in the Human Resources function. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the company values. Ability to maintain physical condition and stamina appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include sitting for extended periods of time, walking the factory floor, hearing, seeing, speaking for employee communications and operating assigned office equipment, and other duties as assigned.
